Flexible stone veneer installs differently depending on the backing type and surface geometry. The key advantage over traditional stone is its ability to conform to curved, radius and irregular architectural surfaces without cutting or scoring.
Measure the surface area. Cut the veneer sheet with heavy-duty scissors, a sharp knife or angle grinder. Flexible veneer cuts cleanly without specialist stone tools.
Clean the substrate — remove dust, oil and loose material. Apply a suitable bonding agent (contact adhesive, epoxy adhesive or the self-adhesive backing on Peel & Stick grade).
Press the sheet firmly from centre to edges, working out air bubbles. For curves, flex the sheet progressively around the radius — do not force sharp bends simultaneously.
Score the backing lightly at regular intervals (never the stone face) to increase flexibility for tight-radius columns. Temperature above 20°C aids bending.
Apply a suitable stone sealer to the face within 48 hours of installation. For wet areas, use a penetrating impregnator sealer rated for the specific stone type.
